This morning I got up early to catch a morning flight to Hannover where I'll be attending the 5th LUMIX Festival. A festival dedicated to young photojournalists around the world. The programme is packed with interesting photographers and I look forward to being inspired during the festival.
I'll be here for the entire festival and during the next days, I'll take some time each day to blog about my experiences down here, the exhibitions and the talks.
With me I bring my portfolio with my two stories "Seven Invisible Horses" and "I Give my Life to you" which I'll be presenting at a portfolio review tomorrow. But most importantly I have a box of pictures which means a great deal to me. It is my latest and on-going project about my brother who is fighting cancer at the moment. I can't wait to show it for the first time. More about that on Friday.
In a few hours I'll meet up with dear friends and colleagues whom I'm lucky to work in the same field as. Although this might be a competitive job to work as a photographer the community and network around photography is unique and a festival like this is a great chance to catch up with friends from all over Europe.
